The main purpose of the Grain Research department is to ensure that Sasko remains on the forefront of new developments concerning grain quality, import legislation (phytosanitary requirements, etc), cultivar developments, GMO status and legislation, local and international wheat quality and availability as well as test methods for grain quality determination. A sophisticated gristing model is also employed to assist wheat mills in achieving a consistent quality flour that meets customer specifications and requirements.
