WHITE RICE (milled, non-parboiled)
This is premium quality Thai rice and is extra well milled, double polished and thoroughly sorted to yield a finished product with a uniform snow-white colour and appealing clean appearance. |
BROWN RICE (non-milled, parboiled)
This is a premium quality brown parboiled rice from Uruguay. Parboiling entails a process in which rice is cooked in its husk, which ensures the migration of nutrients from the rich bran layers to the white endosperm.
This process also alters the chemistry of the kernel, which results in a product that cooks up to be firm and non-sticky. After parboiling it is dried, the husk is removed (de-husked) but the bran left intact (the product is not therefore not milled). This adds to the nutritional value of the product. |
